WHAT IS YOUR MICROVASCULAR HEALTH SCORE™?

The GlycoCheck technological device is a patented, non-invasive, FDA-cleared Class I Medical
Device (and Software System), which is defined as, “can cause no harm”. It is a hand-held video
microscope that will show live video, and analyze and objectively report a single, overall
Microvacscular Health Score™. Glycocheck analyzes glycocalyx, endothelium, and even shows the
true capillary function of an individual’s microvascular system. There is no radiation with this
device.

Please note that this non-invasive GlycoCheck test (live video) will only take about 5-10 minutes
from start to finish, and then another 5-10 minutes for the Microvacscular Health Score™ to print out.

The person being scanned simply holds the video microscope under their tongue while watching
their own blood cells (blood cells are 7 microns in diameter) traveling through various-sized
capillaries, including the smallest-sized capillaries which are only 4 microns in diameter. To give
you an idea as to how small is a 4-micron capillary, over 200 of these 4-micron sized capillaries
will fit in the inside diameter of one single strand of hair.

AND WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW IT?

A healthy microvascular system is important to provide nutrients and oxygen to ALL the cells in
our body and remove waste products away from the organs.

Nutrients and oxygen enter the blood via the intestinal system and lungs respectively and are
distributed to our organs via the large arterial blood vessels. Inside the organs, delivery of
nutrients and oxygen from our blood to tissue cells occur in the smallest vessels that are very close to
individual tissue cells. These microvessels are imaged by the GlycoCheck System and a number
of important parameters are measured to be able to determine the health of the microvascular
system.

The GlycoCheck system can now quantify capillary density, capillary blood volume, blood flow
and red cell velocity, and endothelial glycocalyx function with non-invasive technology. A
healthy microvascular system should have a sufficient number of microvessels that facilitate
blood flow to the tissue cells.

To maintain a healthy microvascular system and to prevent the loss of microvessels, the
microvascular system is coated on the inside of each individual microvessel with a protective
gel-like, Teflon-like lining called the glycocalyx. This protective coating prevents blood cells from sticking to
the wall of microvessels and from fluid leaking through the walls of microvessels. The
GlycoCheck system measure how deep our red blood cells can penetrate into the protective
glycocalyx coating, which is reflective in the Perfused Boundary Region (PBR) value. PBR is a
measure of glycocalyx thickness. A high value PBR means deeper penetration and more damage
of the glycocalyx lining. A low value PBR means lesser penetration and less damage to the
glycocalyx lining.

Overall health of the microvascular system is represented by the MVHS (MicroVascular Health
Score™) that is calculated from capillary blood volume, red cell velocity, and PBR.

GlycoCheck is the only automated imaging device that measures the health of microcirculation
and produces a MicroVascular Health Score™. The small vessels of microcirculation make up
99% of the contact surface area of the vascular system. This is where the exchange of nutrients,
oxygen, hormones, and waste and carbon dioxide removal takes place.
